Melvilasom-My Thought
I heard there is a Bengali novel which later adapted into a Malayalam play.Recently i saw that in 2D screen.No.not a play.it's a movie-"Melvilasam".The whole movie is shot in a single room-a court marshell room. The movie shows the court martial of a jawan who is accused for killing one of his superior officer and injuring another.Tamil actor Parthiban plays that 'Ramachandran'. Suresh Gopi enacts the prosecutor for the culprit and Thalaivasal Vijay as the main judgement officer.KrishnaKumar is the injured officer,B.D.kapur.
My +ves
A very good attempt
Sincere work
My -ves
1.Though this cannot be considered as a 'negative',this is my negative.I feel that this movie is not fit for a regional langauge .Suresh Gopi's character,a Bengali laywer speaks a VERY GOOD Malayalam.B.D.Kapur is also finding it's very easy to speak Malayalam like Asokan's non-Malayali character.Parthiban's character is supposed to be a Malayali(i think),but he speaks a BROKEN Malayalam(he himself dubbed for this film). The possiblity of having a Rai,Kapur speaking Hindi is much higher than having them speaking Malayalam(OK,let's leave it.James Cameron had to send someone to Pandora to teach them English!).
2.The dialogs in the first scene, between the clerck and other armymen became a bit dramatic.
My score : 2.5/5
